Koinonia

What is Koinonia? According to Wikipedia, Koinonia is the anglicisation of a Greek word (κοινωνία) that means communion by intimate participation. In other words, it's a time of fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ to grow in the word of God.

How does Koinonia work? Well, we are to gather in the church an hour before our YF activity on Saturday (The time may vary, depending on the activity). Then we will be given the day's devotion. We will then separate ourselves to spend our time alone and meditate on the Scripture. After that, we will gather together to share our thoughts, experiences or even feelings based on what we have read and understood from the devotion. Share whatever you're most comfortable with. Don't worry, there won't be any uncles or aunties there! (only maybe except for adult advisors of YTM).

This is not another session for your quiet time. This is more of an intimate time to seek God together as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Why have Koinonia?
“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another..” Hebrews 10:25
As we gather together, we are to spend our time and meditate on the word of God and then share our thoughts and experiences with one another. Doing this, we will be encouraging each other to grow and become strong believers of Jesus Christ. Let us have the fire within us to continue burning to want to become more and more like our Lord Jesus Christ.
